At Almaden Academy of Music we nourish every student’s natural love of music, from our tiniest babies to advanced pre-professionals. If you have (or wish to have!) a song in your heart, we have a place for you.

We offer private lessons in voice, piano, violin, viola, cello, saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, French horn, guitar (acoustic and electric), ukulele, guzheng, percussion, drumset, bass (electric & upright), digital production, composition, music theory, recorder, & AP Music Theory Prep. We are an approved vendor for Ocean Grove and an approved vendor for SJUSD public schools (elementary general music).

Considering joining Band or Orchestra? Want to try something new?
Stop in for our OPEN HOUSE! On Sunday Aug 24 from 1-3pm our studio will be open for students to try the band/orchestra instruments and find their favorite! FREE. No registration required. Bring a friend!
Intro to the Instruments classes start Aug 19!
Spots fill quickly for this fantastic small group class for ages 4.5-6.5. (Admission for under 4.5 by invitation.) In this step before private lessons we spend 4 weeks on drums, 4 weeks on recorder, 4 weeks on piano, and 4 weeks on violin. Every class has music reading/writing, singing, dancing, fun with friends, and a different orchestral instrument each week. SO MUCH FUN and learning guaranteed. Max of 8 students per class.
Magic Music Box Class
We’re so excited for Miss Kaya’s Magic Music Box class! Grades TK-Grade 2 (ages 4.5-8). In this fun-filled general music class kids develop note-reading and writing, rhythm, pitch, singing, instrumental skills, improvisation, story-telling, and have a blast doing it. Try for free! Thursdays 4:30-5:15pm starting 8/21.
San Jose Singing Squad
Students in grades 6-10 are invited to join Miss Hannah to sing their faces off in our choir! We sing a huge range of styles, solos are encouraged but never required, and we always throw something at the audience in our concerts. At least 2 performances per year. All abilities/levels of training can be accommodated. Limited capacity.

Onsite@ Graystone, Williams, and Bret Harte
We are thrilled to provide extracurricular instrumental ensembles (Band, Orchestra, Choir varies by school) ONSITE at Graystone Elementary, Williams Elementary, and Bret Harte Middle School. Registration is OPEN. The fall semester begins on August 25. Bret Harte Orchestras start 9/2. Kids can pick what they play. Need-based scholarships available. Click below for more info.
Instrument Rental Program
ALMADEN ACADEMY OF MUSIC is pleased to offer an affordable musical instrument rental program through EASYRENT powered by NEMC. Through this program, we are able to offer the South San Jose community access to affordable and convenient rentals, backed by a national company, providing you access to the largest inventory of teacher-approved quality musical instruments in new or like-new condition such as trumpets, clarinets, trombones, flutes, saxophones, violins, violas, cellos, percussion and many more at an extremely affordable price. School-year, short-term, and long-term rentals available and shipped right to your door.
